There is only one exterior dryer exhaust vent in each location where clothes dryers are located on the property. Each external dryer vent serves two clothes dryers through the use of a “Y” connection. The vent hoses and “Y” adapter are located in an inaccessible location behind the washer / dryer stacks in each laundry room. It has become apparent that the single exhaust vent pipe becomes clogged with lint quite easily and is never cleaned. If one dryer is run when the single vent hose is blocked, warm moist air blows from one dryer into the other dryer and back out into the room. If an attempt is made to run both dryers at the same time while the single exhaust vent is blocked, drying clothes becomes almost impossible because the humid exhaust air cannot be vented at all. This failure to properly install dryer ventilation has caused years of frustration for anyone who has tried to dry clothes at the Enclave. It also caused a fire in Building 2 several years ago as was evidenced by a smoke ring around the dryer vent on the exterior of the building. The manager and board members have been asked repeatedly to fix this but have not done anything about it.
